TRAIL MAP
Founded in 1938, Alta Ski Area is an iconic winter destination with a rich history as one of the first ski areas to open in the United States. Alta maintains a philosophy of offering an authentic ski experience and has developed generations of skiers who consistently call this Utah resort their special place.
Alta Ski Area is known for steep and deep powder skiing, with a seasonal average snowfall of over 548 inches and a 2,538’ vertical, making it a popular spot for expert skiers. However, nearly half of Alta’s terrain is suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers, making it a great, family-friendly ski area. Two covered conveyors located near the Alf Engen Ski School, one of the oldest in the nation, make Alta a wonderful place to learn the art of skiing.
Making memories at this historic ski area is even easier with your Mountain Collective Pass. Your Mountain Collective pass provides direct-to-lift access at Alta. Don't have your pass? Visit any Alta ticket window with your Mountain Collective confirmation email and photo ID to receive your Alta lift ticket. Alta Ski Area is for skiers only, no snowboards please.
Parking reservations are required Friday–Sunday & during holiday periods at Alta Ski Area. Additional parking inventory is released at 3pm each Sunday for the following week.
