Aspen Skiing Company, Colorado
Aspen Snowmass recently announced the opening of the new Coney Express lift, a high-speed quad that will transform the Snowmass base experience.
Additionally, this season is the 20th anniversary of Aspen Snowmass’ Art in Unexpected Places (ArtUP) Program, with this winter’s lift ticket artist announced as Alex Israel.

Banff Sunshine is welcoming a new state-of-the-art six-passenger high-speed luxury express lift. The new “Super Angel” will be complete with a heated bucket seat, footrests, and a yellow weather protection coverage (known as the bubble).

Kelowna International Airport (YLW) has increased its flight offerings with daily nonstop flights from Calgary, Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Airlines that fly into YLW include Air Canada, WestJet, Alaska Airlines, and Pacific Coastal.

Snowbasin Resort is set to host downhill skiing for the 2034 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, following Salt Lake City’s successful bid to host the Winter Games for the second time. Snowbasin was selected as the official Alpine Skiing venue and will welcome the world’s top athletes to its legendary slopes once again after previously serving as a venue for Downhill, Super-G, and combined races in 2002. Snowbasin is one of only three resorts in North America to offer start-to-finish skiing on a downhill Olympic trail.

Sugar Bowl recently unveiled Sugar Bowl Parks, a world-class terrain park that will create a California-based training ground that allows athletes to reach their full potential. The resort is partnering with some of the top minds in terrain park design to bring this to life, and is launching the first phase this year. Opening day for the resort is November 22, 2024.

Sugarloaf, Maine
Sugarloaf’s new West Mountain Expansion, which opened last February, includes the newly opened Bucksaw Express, which provides direct access to 12 new beginner and intermediate trails. Nine of these trails were introduced last February, and the 10th and 11th trails will become skiable this season. Significant improvements to the load and unload sections of the Bucksaw Express lift will enhance the skiing and riding experience on West Mountain.

After three years of work, the brand-new West Bowl Express chairlift is set to open for the start of the 2024-25 ski season. This new lift is a game changer and will completely transform the ski experience at the top of Tod Mountain. The West Bowl Express is a high-speed, quad chairlift. Faster, more comfortable, and higher capacity than a T-bar, the West Bowl Express also opens up new skiable terrain. An expanded 169 acres to be precise, more than triple the original 54 acres accessed via the old lift! Opening day is scheduled for November 16, 2024.

Sun Valley was named the host of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Final on FIS 2024-25 Alpine Calendar. The event will take place in Sun Valley on March 22 – 27, 2025. The Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals will bring together the world’s best alpine ski athletes on Sun Valley’s historied slopes as they vie for the top spot in the downhill, super-G, and giant slalom and slalom races.
